Support Dell Voice Fongo iNum +883 Call Routing for Canadians

I have been using the Canadian-based Dell Voice – Fongo VoIP services for about six months now. For the most part, I have been quite satisfied with the service (especially, the Canada-wide free calling features). And, their international call rates are quite competitive, too. However, the service is missing one key feature that many of today’s competitive VoIP providers are now providing for free, or at a nominal low fee. And, that feature is iNum +883 international call routing.

What is iNum?

iNum stands for international Number. It is a new kind of global phone number for a new kind of world — a world with a new geography that’s about local presence and global relationships, not about distance or national borders. iNum is making use of the +883 global country code created by the ITU (International Telecommunication Union).

Voxbone, with deep expertise in VoIP and telephone numbers, was assigned +883 5100 in 2008 and started the iNum Initiative which maintains the SIP and administrative infrastructure to enable this global number range for IP Communications.

Because iNum calls are based on SIP protocol, VoIP calls can be routed over the Internet using IP protocol, where there is no traversal of PSTN landline networks required and therefore negligible cost for routing these calls between VoIP networks and services.

Join me in my quest to encourage Dell Voice, Fongo FreePhoneLine.ca, and their underlying carrier Fibernetics, to please support routing of iNum phone calls – preferably for free, or at a nominal fee of 1 or 2 cents/min.

IT Expo West 2012 in Austin, TX…

Voxbone enjoyed meeting and networking with everyone that stopped by the booth in Austin for the IT EXPO West 2012.  Our staff that made it to the show this year includes Itay – our CCO, Hugh – VP of Business Development & iNum Initiative, Christoph – Marketing and Colin – iNum Community Manager.

Colin and Itay are ready to answer your iNum and Voxbone Questions!

As for iNum, it was a success to get the word out to so many new and existing customers and let others know what iNum is all about.  The crowd was excited to learn about iNum and the energy was simply amazing.

What is iNum exactly?  It’s a way to call anyone in the world using just one phone number – regardless of what country you are in.  The phone number has an IP based country code where Voxbone provides the +883 iNum number ranges to qualified service providers.  Those providers can then assign a unique, non-geographic but still ITU approved e.164 number to VoIP endpoints and other new services.  We are adding new iNum providers every week and thanks to those of you who stopped by the show to learn more about what iNum is and can do for the world, iNum is gaining more momentum and we look forward to seeing you at the next show!  Our next stop is at AstriCon in Atlanta October 23rd – 25th.

If you are interested in booking a meeting with us at one of our upcoming shows or would like more information about supporting the iNum Initiative, please contact us at www.iNum.net.

Check back next week for exciting announcements of new carriers and providers that are launching iNum to their subscribers.
