December 3, 2008 Using Gizmo5 ? Here’s your iNum !

If you are a Gizmo5 user, you now have an iNum.

To know what’s your iNum number look for your Gizmo5 SIP number, which looks like 1-747-XXX-XXXX and replace the [1-747] with [883 510 07].

Example: If your Gizmo5 SIP number is 1-747 123 4567 then your iNum is +883 510 071 234 567.

    Thank you so much! Just what I wanted, a phone number of 16 (sixteen) characters, including a plus (+) sign at the beginning just to muck up my equipment.

    This sounds like a bad day at MAD Magazine.

    Is this much different from Sipbroker or enum?

    Hi,

    What e164 root does this depend on? I do not find this, neither in in e164.arpa and e164.org?
    (try here: http://www.sipbroker.com/sipbroker/action/enumLookup)

    Or is this not active yet?

    Cheerio! Kr. Bonne.

    @Kristoff

    There is no e164 root yet.
    iNum will have its own root, but this is not active yet…

    Hi Rullens,

    Another root??? :-(

    At this time, I know of no less then 7 more-or-less active e164 roots.

    What we need is FEWER roots, not more! (OK, that’s my idea).

    As you have an official ITU allocation, why not use the e164.arpa root like everybody else. That would be -for me- much more interesting then yet another e164-root.

    Cheerio! Kr. Bonne.

    Hello,

    I find it a fantastic idea. Have lived in 5 different countries in the last 12 years and about to move to number 6 it will allow all my friends, relatives and business partners to reach me around the globe.

    For those who do not know what the ‘+’ sign stays for: It is the place holder for the international callign prefix (i. e. 011 in the US, 00 in most European countries etc.). See this article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_international_call_prefixes

    Cheers,
    Mario

    @Kristoff

    I made a mistake here: iNum will indeed use the e164 root. Sorry about the confusion.

    We are working on this implementation, but it is not ready yet.

    doesn’t seem to work with gizmo5 through the freeringer.biz website…. i tried my inum(+883 510 07)and my giznumber, but no luck… :-(

    Are you able to dial +883 510 000 000 091 ?
    This is an echo test and should always work.
    Please also check with freeringer.biz whether they have already opened up their network to iNum
