August 21, 2009 New Hong Kong access

Hong Kong just got closer …

Dial 58080177 from Hong Kong and get connected to the iNum world !

Of course the long term objective is to provide direct dialing to iNum numbers without the need for access numbers, but this is a start…

The complete list of access numbers can be found here.

Tried the Hong Kong number several times. It does answer and prompt for the inum number, but after entering the inum number all I get is a busy signal after a few seconds of silence. I tried the Chicago access number and didn’t have any problem. The call went through. I am using different providers to call each access number. But I don’t think that is the issue.

Same issue as described by Jon. I dialed the Hong Kong access number locally from HK. IVR picked up, entered an inum # to a voxalot account 883 510 004 xxx xxx, got busy signal.

    Hi, Jon, Ron,

After investigation, we found it was a DTMF problem. Some digits were duplicated. We have reconfigured the system. Could you please retest it? Please do not hesitate to inform us if any other problem. Thanks.

    Hi rullens and Inum support,

This is Ron who reported HK number wasn’t working last week. The number is working perfectly now. Thanks for fixing the issue and the quick response.

Speaking to the idea of direct access… is there a way that INum numbers can be reached directly via SIP URI … eg. MyINUM@sip.server.com ?

It would help a number of DIY PBX users to implement calling to INum numbers into their system…

    Hello Rullens and Inum support,

Thanks for looking into the problem with the Hong Kong inum access number. I just completed a test call without problem.

    Thanks again,
