July 20, 2010 Voxox offering iNum numbers

San Diego, CA based VoxOx announced a new virtual number offer that includes free iNum numbers.

VoxOx plans to enable SMS, Fax in addition to Voice on the service and also allow their customers to do a “vanity number” search to find complimentary digits.

    Apple’s Facetime, and surely a future service from Google too, provide WiFi video calls for free. I don’t understand the benefits of iNum anymore – the reachability list on the PSTN is so small it’s not worth counting…

    @John, we are also excited about these mobile video telephony apps, and look forward to offering free e.164 iNum numbers and free calling within the iNum community to all the new IP communications services that are coming to market.

    For example: two independent video telephony services want to inter-operate with each other, they will need an addressing service to uniquely identify users – iNum can provide the e.164 numbering system and SIP framework.

    On PSTN reachability – the team is actively working on expanding the list, stay tuned.
