August 25, 2010 Google adds Gmail support for web-to-phone calling
Gmail team announced today they will support phone calls from within the Gmail web interface.
We did a few test calls to see if iNum was supported and if it would be free or paid, but it appears the A-Z termination providers they are using for this service are not yet connected with the project.
Its only “Day One” however, and we hope to work with Google to integrate free iNum calling into the new service soon.
Meanwhile, you can still add iNum numbers in the format 8835100xxxxxxxx@inum.net as contacts and call them from Gmail for free!

I haven’t yet received my invite from Gmail to include web phone calling (I do have Google Voice account). However I eagerly await the ability to make web-to-phone calling from Gmail and to my iNum numbers, directly from the Gmail dialer.

As of today, Google has now enabled web phone calling on my Gmail account
My tests also confirm that Gmail web calling (and Google Voice) does not directly support iNum calls.
However, I have tested one work-around that allows me to call iNums directly from the Gmail web-phone and Google Voice.
Just dial one of the iNum access numbers in USA or Canada. When the iNum gateway voice prompt answers, enter your 15 digit iNum number to call. Now, you will be connected to any iNum number via Google Voice or Google Gmail web phone… for free.

Gmail is not routing calls to Inum numbers. Even after adding in Gmail contacts as 883number@inum.net and even if green dot (invitation accepted and online)

Hi @Latvia – thanks, you are right it is working from GTalk but not from Gmail (as it should) – will be investigating and will post when resolved.
